Hedof

Hedof is the one-man creative studio of Dutch illustrator Rick Berkelmans. His striking illustration work is a thoughtful, well balanced composition full of candy coloured sceneries, suspicious characters and wonky shapes that reflect Rick's positive attitude and his studio filled with silly looking toys.

Pinkorange distributed a capsule collection inspired by the Naturalis gemstone depot. Hedof was given exclusive access to the depot especially for this collaboration, which contains a treasure trove of stones and minerals and is usually not accessible to the public. The depot is part of the Netherlands Gemstone Laboratory and is mainly used for research. Hedof was particularly fascinated by Haüy's pear wood crystal model set. René Just Haüy (1743-1822), was a French mineralogist who is regarded as the founder of modern crystallography. He showed that the external shape of a crystal is the result of the sudden taping of small building blocks and designed the set to demonstrate this. Haüy's crystal models and the patterns, rhythms, colors that gemstones can take on, they are the basis of the two designs Hedof created for the collection. The Naturalis x Hedof collection consists of one sweatshirt and two T-shirts with Hedof's prints

Hedof has a lot of experience and he has already worked for big clients such as: Nike / The New York Times / Ikea / Samsung / KLM Airlines / Nestle / Red Bull / Playstation / Snapchat / Youtube / WeTransfer / Google / Heineken / Greenpeace / Facebook
