Floor van het Nederend
For the summer of '22 we invited Floor van het Nederend to Vlieland, to be inspired for the collection of the festival Into The Great Wide Open.
Floor Van het Nederend was born in Haarlem (1987) and currently living in Amsterdam. As a small child, Floor was already a fan of comics, especially of artists such as Hergé and Franquin. Floor started drawing a lot in primary and secondary school. After studying at the University of Amsterdam, Floor decided to pick up drawing again. His style is characterized by the raw use of East Indies ink and the influences of underground comics and punk flyers. The themes sometimes look aggressive, but are never too serious. Inspirations for his style include Robert Crumb, Raymond Pettibon and Charles Burns.
The two items inspired by his time on the island are a shirt, a hoodie and a longsleeve.
